UltraFAB is relocated to Customs House as a part of the 2009 Sydney Architecture Festival

Part of an exhibition, coinciding with the 2009 Sydney Architecture Festival

A part of Sydney Design 09, presented by the Powerhouse Museum, Ultra_FAB is a 1:1 scale architectural project, designed and constructed by Dr Sarah Benton, Damien Butler and students from Masters of Architecture Digital Studio, University of Sydney. The Pavilion sits in the forecourt of the Wilkinson Building on City Road. It was intended to take USyd’s Digital Architecture research and education studios beyond the virtual and the miniature and into the real and site specific. The result was a journey through digital architectural design techniques, Australia’s steel and timber fabrication industry and Pavilion construction.

Firstdraft is a non-profit gallery run on a voluntary basis by a group of practising artists. It is one of the longest running ARIs in Sydney.

The Red Rattler Theatre is a not-for-profit creative space located in Marrickville. Featuring an activist and performance space for musicians, artists, film-makers, performers, collectives and community groups, it will be available for launches, festivals, events, parties and meetings. Non-residential studios, located on the first floor are offered to artists and activists, and open out to the rooftop garden. www.redrattler.org
